Guys, want to boost your fertility? Try going regimental

Having a Scottish background, and an eye for men in a kilt, I found this article to be great news…KILTS FOR ALL!

width=300

It turns out that those burly, kilt-clad, Scottish hammer throwers may be appealing to women on an instinctual and reproductive level, as well as purely aesthetics. Researchers at Erasmus University in Rotterdam discovered that the wearing of pants, which generally constricts male genitals, decreases sperm production; by contrast, the wearing of a kilt facilitates air movement and lowers testicular temperature, thereby increasing sperm counts.

The kilt, therefore, is the ideal garment for men during their fertile years. The study

Genetic Clues to Male Infertility May Aid Therapy

Published May 10, 2013

width=150

Pinpointing men with 2 specific variations in genes encoding for follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and its receptor (FSHR) may lead to targeted therapy of male infertility with FSH, say German researchers.

Reporting the findings at the 2013 European Congress on Endocrinology last week, Joerg Gromoll, PhD, from the Center for Reproductive Medicine, Muenster, Germany, said the combinatory effect of these variants in the hormone and its receptor is an unparalleled example in endocrinology.

Canadian Fertility Consultants - Manitoba could follow B.C. on surrogacy issue

Published May 09, 2013

width=300Canadian Fertility Consultants – Recently, British Columbia adopted a more simplified law. Majority Believe Infertility is a Medical Condition and Want Treatments Supported by the Healthcare System

Published May 07, 2013

width=252

Mother’s Day is a celebration honoring motherhood but for one in six Canadian couples facing the emotional and financial burden of infertility, it can be an unbearable day. A new survey released today shows there is a great deal in common between today’s mothers and those who have struggled with infertility, including the age at which they wanted to have children and the age at which they actively began trying to conceive. Mothers also have similar attitudes towards the causes of infertility, the challenges to access treatment and the role government should play.

The high cost of infertility

Are you ready to become a Surrogate?

We suggest that all potential surrogates consider the following before you commit yourself to any family. It is important that you and the Intended Parents have the same expectations surrounding the process.

Clarification on the following is very important, and can often be a deal breaker, if not agreed upon prior to the contract process beginning.
* How many embryos will be transferred?

*Am I willing to carry multiples?

*Are you willing to consider selective reduction?

*Am I able to terminate a pregnancy, at the intended parents discretion if there is a medical issue with the fetus(s)?

*Am I willing to allow intended parents help with selection of an OB, and to attend appointments?

*Who will be in the room during the delivery?

*What are my expectations around post birth contact, if any?

*Are you willing to pump breast milk if asked?

The gift a Surrogate Mother gives is such an enormous blessing.

Are you ready to give this gift?
