A Donor's Mother

FullSizeRender   This post has taken me all day to write.  I’ve been full of so many emotions.  The day started very early, 4:00am to be exact. We woke up, and started the drive from Qualicum Beach, to Victoria.  Christina wasn’t feeling great, so she slep off and on most of the drive.  I was very nervous about today, and so I was likely driver a little slower than usual….Not a bad thing, I guess.   As we drove, Leanne Womak song, I hope you Dance, came on the Radio.  It’s a special for Christina and I, as she had a class performance in Grade three to the song, and it has always reminded me of her. Christina has always been one to “dance”, enjoying life, living every moment to its fullest.  In the song it say, I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean.  Today it was so hard to see her as small.  She was my beautiful girl, all grown up, giving this beautiful gift. She was so BRAVE!!   As we walked into the procedure room, we joked, and had our usual banter, she was excited, not nervous. It was amazing.  I have been an egg donor a few times, and I cerntainly was never as graceful, that’s for sure.   She had lots of eggs, and 22 that looked great!  Dr Graham did a great job, as did the nurses assisting.  I was again shocked at how quickly she bounced back after.  Within an hour, we were on our way back to the hotel to rest.  When we finally got settled, she started to feel unwell.  It’s so hard to see her in pain, but she’s been good about it all.   The nurse suggested salty food, so it’s a Sushi, and salt and vinegar chips kind of evening, while we snuggle in and watch TV.   This was a known donation, and so we’ll have some news in the coming months, and whether the outcome is positive, or negative, it’s been such a positive experience for Christina this week, and as a journey we shared together, something I won’t soon forget.   Thanks so much to all of our friends and family who have been a huge support as Christina went through this beautiful process.

Our New Office

It has been a few months since we opened our new office in Parksville, British Columbia, and we are finally feeling settled. parksville_001   Our Head Office also moved from Brighton, Ontario, to Cobourg, as we outgrew the space this year, when we expanded our Egg Donor program to Four Full time staff.  The new Cobourg office is just 5 minutes from the VIA station making the Toronto commute doable for our staff as they go into the city to attend appts with Donors and Surrogates. cobourg In Parksville, I am working with my wife who heads up our Surrogacy program, CFC, and Sarrie our Donor program assistant.  We are loving our space, but as we are also growing, hoping to add a new team member by Summer, we will definitely be looking for new space here also.     All of this moving has been exciting.  I want to ensure that all of our clients know that we will continue to do our best to take care of them, and that when they call our Head Office, they can reach any of us, anywhere, whether calling for our Surrogate Support worker Angie, in London, Leia and myself here in Parksville, or Stephanie in Cobourg.  Our automated phone system will direct you to any of our Staff.   For more information on our new locations, or to book a consultation with our Surrogacy, or Egg Donation programs, please contact us through our website,, OR by calling our office at 613.439.8701     Warm regards, Scott
